51. Macclesfield forest. 23rd April 2014.

From the carpark on the eastern edge of Macclesfield forest we headed east to clough brook the north east to Torrgate farm then west along the road to the Stanley arms for drinks. Taking the lane south west a short way to a path on the right then on Charity lane north west a short way to a path on the left through the forest then south to the Leathers smithy pub. Across the dam of ridgegate reservoir the along the reservoir then stopping to admire trentabank reservoir where we spotted the herons and other birds nesting on the far bank.This is where we took an unnecessary detour as you see on the map but then following Bollin brook back to the car park.
