67. Butterton and Onecote peak district walk

67. Butterton and Onecote. 15th July 2014.

Parking in a layby near the junction of The B5053 and dog lane heading first south west down the B5053 then taking a path on the left just past the house on the left heading south east across fields joining Dog lane then walked down turning left at the junction into Butterton. We were a bit early for pub opening at The Black lion but after reading most of of the gravestones in the churchyard opposite it still wasn’t opening so glumfaced we carried on south through the village then taking a path through Coxon green farm. Crossing over Parsons lane just left of the sheldons farm lane then right along the path round the back of the farm to Onecote joing th hamps way just before the B5053 then heading south west to the Jervis pub on the right. After a refreshing pint of moonshine and a sherry in the beergarden we continued along the main road then right into Douse lane past the church taking a path on the right signposted onecote grange. North along the hamps way passing through Mixon and still north until manor farm on our left then turning east then picking up a lane heading south east to a farm where you have to go left taking the footpath north east. Following the path through fields then heading south east through hill farm to the B5053 and the car.
