88. Rowsley, Stanton in Peak peak district walk

88. Rowsley, Stanton in Peak. 6th December 2014.

Parking opposite Haddon Hall in the main car park (not too bad at £1.20) we headed across the road around Haddon Hall and following the lane up turning right along the edge of the field just before Bowling Green Farm. Across fields then right onto Park Lane over a bridge then left along the A6 a short way then a path on the left through fields through farm buildings then turning right onto Church Lane then left onto the A6 round the corner and drinks at the Grouse and Claret this time sitting inside. Back down the road and turning left down Woodhouse Road opposite the Peacock. Passing the school and the Caudwell Mill Craft Centre then following the road right on Peaktor lane and when the lane swings left taking the path on the right next to a gate. Across fields then left on Stanton Hall Lane then a path right across fields to turn right on Pilhough Lane then right down main road and The Flying Childers pub satisfying our thirst in a cosy snug. Continuing down the main road to a house that looks like a church and a junction of lanes taking the signposted footpath on the right across fields through Toll Wood(no charge) then turning right on the B5056 and crossing the junction taking a path through Oxclose Wood heading north across fields and back to the car park.
